Her Name is Meekel

Let me share the story of Meekel.

I first saw her near the ocean. At first, I walked past her, heading toward some shade to enjoy my cool cup of coffee. As I sat with friends, engaged in conversation, I couldn’t shake the echo of the story of the Good Samaritan—how so many passed by the one in need. And that’s exactly what was happening. Everyone was walking past her.

After finishing my coffee, I felt compelled to approach her. I asked if I could sit down, and she replied, “Yes, if you’d like to.” I asked her name, and she said, “Meekel—the feminine form of Michael in French.”

I asked if I could pray with her. She said, “Yes, if you’d like to—but do you mind if I keep eating?” I assured her it was perfectly fine. As I prayed, she remained kind and polite. I tried to encourage her, reminding her that everyone has a story. I shared a bit of my own—some of the difficult things I’ve faced.

Her eyes were a deep, piercing brown, filled with kindness and a hint of water filling them. She thanked me for sharing and then quoted Matthew 19:30, “But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.”

What struck me most was that just hours earlier, I had finished reading my daily devotional—and the final verse I read was that exact passage: Matthew 19:30.

I approached her because I want to live out the words of Scripture. But on that day, I believe she had something to offer me, my gentle reminder that I am known to Him.

“Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” — Hebrews 13:1–2

Everyone has a story

I don’t know where you’re from and you don’t know where I’m from. I don’t know where you’ve been and you don’t know where I’m going. You see what you see based on where you’re from. The hidden things define what is ahead. I don’t decide for you when it’s time like you don’t decide for me when it’s time to go into the darkness to reveal what was done that’s defining your future. It’s our job to love without conditions, love without expectations and remember everybody has a story.

Family

I wonder if you see what I see in this beautiful smiling child. She has a tenderness in her soul and confidence and trust that is growing. I love how she displayed her work in her family project for family rules. Her story matters.

This is one of the places that I truly get to say “I love my job and I am so honored I get to walk with families bringing hope.

Are You Connected?

Can you see them, they are right in front of you? Can they feel your desire for them above everything else?

“Connection Before Correction.” – TBRI®️

“Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them.  Jesus said, “Leave the little children alone, and don’t try to keep them from coming to me, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”  , After placing his hands on them, he went on from there.”

Experiencing His Spirit

There is more happening than what is evident with our natural senses… learning to abide fully in who Holy Spirit is allows Him to do His part with guiding you in this life. There are things we can’t see happening but He is already before you and following up behind you .

“God sends angels with special orders to protect you wherever you go, defending you from all harm. If you walk into a trap, they’ll be there for you and keep you from stumbling. You’ll even walk unharmed among the fiercest powers of darkness, trampling every one of them beneath your feet!”
